What Is a Delivery Note?
A delivery note records what was actually delivered to a customer. It lists the seller, customer, delivery date, items, and delivered quantities. Optional ordered quantities can show what is still outstanding. A received-by name and recipient signature can acknowledge receipt.
It is not an invoice and it is not a packing slip. Prices, tax, and amount due belong on an invoice. A packing slip lists what was packed for a shipment.

How to Create a Delivery Note
- Enter the delivery note number and delivery date.
- Add seller and customer names and addresses. Phone, email, and logo are optional.
- Add a delivery address only when it is different from the customer address, or choose Same as Customer.
- Optionally add an order number, customer PO, delivery method, and carrier.
- List items with description and delivered quantity. Ordered quantity and unit are optional. Outstanding quantity is calculated when ordered quantity is entered.
